What is Peebles Place Plan?

Peebles Place Plan (PPP) states the community's aspirations and priorities for how we want Peebles to develop over the next 20 years.

We are in the process of registering it under the Local Place Plan regulation so that SBC will take it into account as part of planning policy.

The PPP states our proposals for how land is developed and used within Peebles. It describes the types of changes that local people want to see. It includes a spatial vision of where changes should happen, and a map which shows where.

As part of the PPP, we have also created the Peebles Town Action Plan, which is a more detailed plan for how these changes can be brought about.

Who made Peebles Place Plan?

Ideas in the plan come from local townsfolk at public consultation events and build on PCT's 2016 Action Plan (more here).

Thanks to generous funding from SBC, volunteers from Peebles Community Trust, Peebles Community Council and Peebles Civic Society have been assisted by consultants New Practice to perform the Plan for Peebles consultations and produce the current version.

Officially, the place plan will be registered on behalf of:

• Peebles Civic Society

We invite other local organisations to endorse the plan along with:

• Tweeddale Peace Group
• Tweeddale Quaker Group

Peebles Town Action Plan

For the purposes of § 5(1)(g) & 5(3) of the Local Place Plan regulation, the Town Action Plan consists of the following documents:
